Just a quick little nail design I did a while ago, using Models Own Utopia and Gold by Giles at New Look lilac. I made the hearts using the bobble end of a hair grip - making three dots of polish then kind of dragging the dots towards the others.

Utopia is such a weird colour, it's a kinda nudey beige with a slightly lilac tint, but I love it. It's a great daytime colour to wear plain but can also be easily matched up with other colours, like this lilac shade. It is quite streaky though and took me a few coats to get a good even covering.

What's your favourite Models Own shade? And What's your favourite, easy nail design? x

bare shoulders

Jeans: vintage Wranglers (c/o my mom) // Cut out shoulder top: Daisy Street // Necklace: Vintage

I was feeling slightly 90s in this outfit at the weekend - crop top, high waisted jeans and a high pony - oh yes! My mom recently donated these jeans to me and I love them. She used to love them too and wear them all the time so they're not in the best condition, but they're okay for casual daytime wear. They're also too long for me at the moment so they're rolled up, but I'm going to attempt to properly turn them up soon.

I love how the cut out shoulders of this Daisy Street top can make a plain item much more interesting, perfect for showing off my year round freckly shoulders haha. This top could easily be worn with a cute skater skirt rather than jeans, I think that's how I'll next wear it :) It might just be long enough to tuck in too.

What do you think of the 90s trend that seems to be around at the moment? What's your most 90s outfit? x

Undress your skin

Taking the photos for this post made me realised how ridiculously hard it is to get good images of highlighter on your face! I don't actually know how people do it - any tips would be appreciated. And sorry, yes it's another cheek product post!

I've never bought anything from MUA before, so this highlighter is my first introduction to the brand. Despite hearing good things about their products, I've always been a bit weary of their stuff because I feel like cheap makeup is usually poor quality (call me a snob, I know I know, sorry). I picked this up on a lunch break a while ago in Superdrup - it was only £3 so I thought I'd give it a go.

The highlighter itself has a pale pink/pearly tone. I thought this made a nice change from the more common gold or bronze highlighters that I seem to own! It's very subtle when on the skin, but it's perfect for daytime wear. It's a very soft formula and very easy to blend into the cheek bones. I've worn it above with my pale pink 'Katie' Illamasqua blush and they make quite a good pair.

Sorry about the slightly irregular posts at the moment, I"ve had a busy couple of weeks what with getting back from holiday, the AxCircus event and then my boyfriend's birthday all in very quick succession! I will hopefully be back to normal soon :)

Have you tried any MUA products? What do you think to this highlighter? x

#AxCircus

All photos courtesy of Lisa Stirling - event photographer

Last week, I was lucky enough to have the awesome opportunity of hosting a blogger event through work. I love working in PR and with bloggers, but putting on an event has been the highlight of my career so far! Myself and Kim worked hard for weeks to create the Ax Paris - #AxCircus event, hosted at the gorgeous Circus in Covent Garden.

The event was in honour of Ax Paris' brand new TV advert which aired on Sunday 14th April. Have you seen it yet? To celebrate we arranged free cocktails, wine and beer all night plus a selection of canapes and raffle prizes. The guests were entertained by Teta, the lovely firebreather and Hugo, an amazing aerial artist.

At about 5pm on the day of the event, I suddenly came down with an awful sickness bug which meant that I couldn't actually make it to the venue on the night - after all the hard work I missed the fun bit! I was so so gutted :( It made it all better though to see so many lovely tweets and blog posts about the event the next day, bloggers are so good at being appreciative and thanking people! It did also mean that I missed seeing lots of my favourite bloggers like Tara, Michelle, Katy, Steph, Leigh and loads more :( which I was extra sad about. I'm sure that there will be more events in future that I'll be able to enjoy ;).

Did you go to or hear about the Ax Paris event? Have you ever been to Circus? x

Dainty Doll

(L-R) My Girl, Happy Shake, You Are My Sunshine

I'm sure many of you have heard about the Dainty Doll bargains on Fragrance Direct at the moment, well I got a bit over excited and decided to buy 3 blushers. Blushers are my spending downfall, I don't know why I always feel the need to buy them, I have loads!

I picked up three shades all suited to paler skin, My Girl - a vibrant candy pink with a slight glitter, Happy Shake - a very pale matte lilac/pink shade and You Are My Sunshine - a coral blush with a copper/gold shimmer.

My first impressions of these blushers are that they are very pigmented with a soft formula. They're so easy to blend and build up colour. I think You Are My Sunshine will be lovely in summer, working as more of a shimmery bronzer rather than a blusher.

Did you pick up any Dainty Doll bargains on Fragrance Direct? What do you think of these shades? x
