When I think of blouses, I often think of boring office wear, but this doesn’t always have to be the case! Below are some tips to make blouses that little bit more interesting and up to date.
In order to update your look, pick tunics that are bright and bold. A block colour such as navy looks great with jeans and lashings of gold jewellery. Cerise pink looks great when clashed with other bright colours such as yellow.
Contrasting fabrics also add to a high fashion look. A silk chemise with leather trousers or printed trousers look great as the difference in textures adds complexity to an outfit.
Wear animal print such as leopard and python print with black skinny jeans as an alternative to a dress for a night out. For a real rock chick look, pair leopard print with a leather skater skirt and block wedges. Add chunky jewellery and you’re set to go!
Short length, printed shirts look great with high waisted jeans or disco pants. Don’t be afraid of flaunting the flesh, everything will still remain covered!
For an indie chick look, wear your shirt completely buttoned up. Necklaces can be layered under the collar for added impact.
Monochrome is a key trend that can be channelled by wearing shirts that are a mix of white and black. Alternatively, wear white on top and black on bottoms or vice versa. Add a neon clutch bag into the mix to complete your look.
Boyfriend shirts that are oversized and slouchy add a real laid back vibe to any outfit. Pair with tight leather pants or leggings so your figure isn’t swamped. You can also tie the shirt at the bottom to create a cropped look or wear unbuttoned as a light jacket.
Wear under a sweatshirt or jumper for a preppy look. Wear contrasting colours so there is a little pop of colour peeping out of the sweater and add a matching statement necklace to tie all pieces together.
