Chanel - Chance Eau Tendre

Chanel - Chance Eau Tendre

I was recently given this perfume as a present from my parents for my degree result. I've mentioned it before on here, but I wanted to give it it's own post to show it the love it deserves :p

The perfume is described as: "pure olfactory poetry, a fruity-floral fragrance, a vibrant yet delicate scent like a wave of tenderness... Grapefruit–Quince notes intertwine with Jasmine Absolute, warmed by the rounded and feminine note of White Musk." (As per the Selfridges website).

The majority of that description has gone straight over my head, I'm not going to lie. I don't describe things with 'notes', I'm just going to keep this post short and sweet and say it smells niiiiice! :) I've been wearing this perfume most days and saving my Gucci Rush for special occasions.

What's your favourite perfume? Have you tried Chanel - Chance Eau Tendre? x

Topshop Mighty Boots

A while ago I posted about my Topshop Amelie boots (post here), which a few people seemed to like, although at £80 they are quite pricy.
I've just seen these very similar versions, for a much more affordable £45! The only difference I can see is that they don't have the small silver studs on the toe, but everything else is the same - the overall shape, the heel, zip etc. My Amelie boots are so comfy, the heel is a perfect height to wear during the day and they look amazing with both leggings/jeans or dresses & skirts!
If you liked the Amelie boots, but thought £80 was a bit too much, then I'd suggest checking these out. The reviews on the Topshop website are all very positive and give them lots of praise! :) x

P.s. they're also available in tan here.

Truck Festival 2012

What I wore:
First outfit: Floral Top - Topshop // Leather patch leggings - H&M (old, similar here) // Hoody - Superdry
Second outfit: Skull Top - Republic // Leather patch leggings - H&M (old, similar here) // Hoody - Superdry // Denim jacket - H&M

Last weekend I went to Truck Festival, a festival in Oxfordshire which claims to be 'the godfather of small festivals'. I dunno if it completely lives up to that name as it's a pretty big claim, but I definitely had an amazing time! The weather was great on the Saturday, t-shirt and shorts weather! I apologise for my pasty white legs, that's pretty much the first sun they've seen all year.

The lineup was a really good mix, some of the bands there included The Temper Trap, Mystery Jets, Guillemots, British Sea Power, Dog is Dead and Little Comets among many others. The bands/artists I personally enjoyed the most were Tim Minchin (the comedian/songwriter... amazing!), Tellison, Boat to Row and King Charles. We were lucky enough to bump into King Charles outside the tent after his set, he was so nice and chatting to everyone and having photos (last photo) :) I haven't stopped listening to his album all week!

The theme on the Saturday was wild animals, but as we weren't sure what the weather was gonna be like before we got there we just decided to do facepaint so we could still wear jackets etc and not worry about covering up our costumes! Just thought I'd whack this in here incase you wondered what the random tiger face was all about haha. We had fun asking random people what animal they thought Stefan was... he's the one with the grey face... can you get it?

I'm going to leave you with my favourite King Charles song... you should definitely listen and also  check out the other bands I mentioned too!

Amourx jewellery

I was very lucky to be contacted by Colleen from Amourx, a handmade jewellery store based in Melbourne, Australia. She was kind enough to send me these lovely pieces!
I was very impressed with the packaging and presentation of the jewellery, they came tucked in a cute printed box within a little gold gift bag. I think attention to detail like this really makes a difference when receiving a product :)

I love the fact that the ring is adjustable! I hate buying rings online as there's always the risk that they won't fit on my skinny fingers, I have way too many rings just sat in a drawer because they don't fit. This ring is really cute and perfect for daytime wear. I love the pattern on the earrings too :) both of the first holes in my ears are stretched, so I can't wear studs in those, however I often put random mismatched earrings in my second/third holes so these are perfect!

Amourx has free worldwide shipping so everyone should check them out, all the products are really affordable prices and great quality! Go and have a look :) x

ASOS jewellery

I feel like I'm lacking jewellery at the moment, so I thought I'd have a quick look on ASOS and see what I could find :) the pieces above are some of my favourites and I think they're all quite reasonable prices really!
The fan earrings are a bit different, but I think they're pretty cool. £10 might seem like quite a lot for a pair of stud earrings, but they would definitely make a statement. Chunky stud bangles are my favourite at the moment, they're so easy to wear with so many outfits :)

What's your favourite? x

:)

Dress: Primark // Belt: Primark // Leggings: Topshop

Two posts in two days, what is going on?! These are just some quick images of a typical work outfit from the other day. I need to stop wearing black... it's supposedly summer so I should be all floral and summery but I'm not.

Today I booked a holiday in the most amazing old fashioned Gypsy caravan in the New Forest! :) Me and Josh are going for a long weekend at the start of August and I can't wait. Just gonna have a chilled out time and hire some bikes and go on bike rides all weekend. And it's near the sea and I love the sea!  :D I feel like an over excited child but I don't care. Being from the very centre of England makes the seaside a very fun, rare, adventure!

I've just ordered Pizza Hut too, so today is going well :) I am stuck on 299 followers though, which is slightly annoying my OCD side - someone make it a nice round number please? x

Bellapierre Mineral Foundation

I've wanted to try a mineral foundation for a while now, they've always seemed like the perfect answer for those days when you don't want to be caked in makeup, but I've never wanted to jump in and buy a whole product without trying it first. CutECOsmetics have this amazing sample service which means that you can basically try before you buy! They make little sample sizes of brands such as Bellapierre, Inika, Lily Lolo and BM Beauty covering products like mineral foundations, blushers and bronzers.

I used this foundation over the Maybelline BB cream as more of a setting powder and it lasted pretty much all day at work. I applied the mineral foundation with my Real Techniques powder brush, which in all honesty was a bit too big for the small sample pot. I think the Real Techniques buffing brush would work better and is apparently designed for use with mineral foundations anyway!

Overall I like this product, but I'm glad I've had chance to test it first. I'd definitely recommend using the CutECOsmetics sample service to test smaller versions of products before you buy!

Sorry this isn't the most coherent of posts, I feel like I'm waffling but I'm really sleepy after work and Josh is nagging me to do the hoovering so we can watch a film. Waaah, woe is me!
Hope everyone is okay :) x

Topshop Amelie studded boots

I bought these boots while I was in town yesterday - I've had my eye on them for a while but finally took the plunge and bought them :)
I love wearing girly dresses with little socks and ankle boots, so I think these are going to be cropping up in that form in a few outfit posts soon! I think these will also go really well with leggings or jeans, they're so easy to wear! How would you style them?
The heel is the perfect height for either daytime or evening wear, I haven't worn them for a long period of time yet but they seem to be really comfy. They're not exactly the summeriest of shoes... but then again we really don't seem to be having much of a summer so I'm getting ready for winter again!
There was also this amazing camo jacket in Topshop which I reaaaaallly want, I just need to re-vamp my wardrobe first to make sure I have stuff to go with it!

Have you seen anything good in Topshop recently? I feel like a bit of a spree coming on... please feel free to suggest some items you think I should get :) x

life

I haven't posted on my blog in over a week, oopsie. At the moment, work is making me not really want to look at twitter, blogs or a computer in general when I'm at home. I've just had a week of relaxing, eating out and generally having some time away from the computer screen! I'm always updating instagram so follow me on there if you miss my blog posts ;) my username is emmerliejay.

I thought I'd just post a quick update about what's going on with me, I found out that I got a first in my degree! The beautiful flowers above are a congratulations present from my boyfriend, my parents also bought me a bottle of Chanel - Chance Eau Tendre perfume :) I'm a very lucky girl.

I will be back to posting regularly again very soon, I just needed a little bit of time off this week. I went to the Nelly High Heels event last night so I've got a post coming up on that and I also have a couple of beauty products to review from Bellapierre and CutECOsmetics :)

I hope everyone's okay and has had a good week! I'll be catching up on some of the posts I've missed this evening x
