Eyelashes

top left: natural eyelashes - top right: curled eyelashes

I mentioned the other day that I'd bought some eyelash curlers for the first time in my life. The first image is my natural eyelashes and the second is them after I've used the eyelash curlers.

I clamp the curlers at the base of my lashes first, then move the curler along and clamp somewhere in the middle too. As you can see in the images, there is some difference between natural and curled, so I do feel like they were worth buying. When I apply my mascara, the curl definitely drops though! Does anyone else find this, or know any secret tips for really curly eyelashes?

In other news, I have two assignments (one 3000 words, one 4000 words) due in on Monday and Wednesday so this weekend is going to be a boring, work filled one :( Then my dissertation is due two weeks after that, wah! But I have got some blog posts lined up so hopefully I won't go too AWOL!

Hope everyone is okay! x
Ps. I'm not naked in this photo, I am actually wearing a pink top, just incase you were worried.

  1. Wow the difference is very noticeable! Sometimes when I curl mine I do it after applying mascara, not sure if you're meant to or not! Although if you have long eyelashes be careful as I sometimes end up with black smudges from where it touches just below my brow bone when you curl them. Good luck with the rest of your work, you'll be so relieved when your diss is handed in :) xx

  2. Failproff way to keep a curl: Curl first, then apply Waterproof Mascara! I recommend Covergirl Lashblast in the orange tube (but almost any waterproof will work) and your curl will last all day and all night!. This is coming from a half-asian girl with thick pin straight lashes that point downwards!

For a decent non-waterproof formula that keeps a curl moderately well, I like Rimmel Lash Accelerator (the original lengthing one)

    1. Haha thankyou! I'm currently using a non-waterproof mascara so that might be why! :)
As soon as I read 'covergirl lashblast' it just reminded me of ANTM when they did that TV ad for it! x

    2. Its definately something that gets annoying (waterproof formulas) if you use them daily as theyre a nighmare to get off...but for nights out and special occasions, Waterproof is the only way to go! Makes me feel super fancy lmao

    3. :) I totes agree ;) waterproof is the way to go to keep the curl

I also recommend L'Oreal telescopic waterproof mascara: holds the curl great! :)

  3. For me I really think it depends on the mascara and how well it holds the curl. I think newer mascaras that are slightly wetter will hold a curl less. You could try waiting for your mascara to dry first and then curl them again after :).

It works for me, and I know people say it's bad to curl your eyelashes after mascara but I've been doing that for years now and I've had no problems!
